Recorded a vid today with by BFF's daughter
Recorded this today with my best friend's 13 year old daughter (lead vocals). Good to see the young kids embracing classic rock and enjoying it.
Of course my amp crapped out this morning before I left. Forcing me to play through a 3 watt Roland Micro Cube with a 5" speaker. And I noodled my way (badly) through the solo. But it was more about her singing, so all in all a good time.

That's so cool. The young lady has some pipes!
That song was recorded in 1979, so it could be older than her parents. How many of us boomers can say we enjoyed music from our grandparents' day when we were 13?

Great job! She'll only get better and considering how good she is now that will surely be something to see!

Thanks for taking the time listening and providing feedback, everyone. I'll make sure to pass along to Lauren and her mom! She will be excited that other musicians took a listen.
If you could take a few seconds to "like" her YouTube video, it would mean a lot. She doesn't get many and it helps boost her confidence. Thanks everyone!!

She's got a great voice! Maybe encourage her by selecting some music that respects her current top end and let her sell it! She has youth and sweetness in her voice. (That's a good thing, BTW). ;-)
Looks like you all had some fun. Now, I just need to convince my wife to let me turn our dining room into a studio. Who needs meals and all that? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

Thanks, Dave!! Yeah, we are trying to come up with some songs that would suit her voice that she would also enjoy singing.
And trust me, I would love to have a little jam area like that myself. But I live in a 600 square-foot apartment so it's not going to happen.

You're welcome. She has a lovely voice and presence. I suspect she sings the mezzo-soprano vocal part. Often times, the songs that sit in the middle and bottom of her register and embellish with the top, will work. It might be hard for her to sit at the top for a whole song. I'd let her pick out stuff she likes and back her up. Maybe grab some records of female rock, pop, jazz, and folk artists? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
