Default Guitar dried out?

Hello all. I just recently aquired a used 2006 Yamaha FG750S which I think may be too dry. First, the fret ends are sticking out quite a bit from the sides of the fretboard (this has already gotten better since it has been in my 45% RH home for a day). But mostly, the area in front of the bridge is slightly sunk in, and slightly bellying behind the bridge. Are these signs of a too dry guitar? Will this fix itself with keeping the guitar in a constant 45% ~ 55% RH room? Can I keep the strings tuned up to pitch or should I slacken them? Approx. how long would this take? Should I just sent the guitar back? I could post some pics tomorrow of the sunken / bellying area near the bridge if that would help... Please let me know. I have a 7 day return period for sending the guitar back for refund but if this problem can be fixed I would keep it. Thanks.

Bryan
What you describe sounds like the characteristics of a dry guitar.

Taylor has a good video on the subject of dry guitars:

I don't recall how long it took them to rehumidify it -- a week perhaps?

In my experience, the lower bout will also be sunken on a dry guitar (as well as the back). A belly could indicate bridge rotation, which is a different problem that won't be solved by adding moisture.

Edit: hmm, might be the wrong video. Try these instead:

I didn't check the back... I'll have to give that a look at in the morning.

I just checked it again and I now notice that the lower bout is also sunk in as well. The back actually looks fine (because it's laminate?), but it is definately sunk in front of the bridge and the two wings of the lower bout, and belly'd directly behind the bridge. I also just noticed that the finish is cracking in three small areas just behind the bridge what looks like runs under the bridge - I figure from the bellying of the bridge pulling forward. I already contacted the seller and it is shipping back today. Thanks everyone.

Good plan. If it was that dried out, I consider that guitar abuse. It'll often lead to other problems, like glue failing at various joints.
