Default 1996 810

I have a 1996, 810, the last year before Taylor changed the shape of their dreadnaught models and I am glad I have the older shape. It's much more traditional looking and has to me, anyway, a better large guitar feel. The top has aged beautifully and is starting to get that gorgeous honey colored look to it and it keeps getting louder and louder almost daily. I also have a couple of Martin guitars and I love each of them for different reasons but overall the Taylor is still my favorite for balanced sound, now if it played like my D-42 I would dump all he others.

Does the D-42 play more easily than the 810? If so, do you think it's because of the smaller neck?
