Default The Lehmann Woodstock Entourage

I hope many of you are planning a trip to the Woodstock Invitational Oct. 25, 2014. This is the best show of fine musical boxes anywhere and the fall colors are peak. The show is just the right size to be able to see and appreciate everything presented. Allow yourselves to be surprised and delighted and try things you normally wouldn't.
I am bringing a variety of instruments this year - two Grand Concert Model 1887s, one in Koa and one in Brazilian RW; my brand new Pearwood 12 fret 00 size offered at a great show price; the Henri Rousseau inspired wood top Jungle Banjo in tulip and cocobolo with real tiger maple bridge; an acoustic fretless bass in ovankol; an ebony ribbed back Model 2000; a Model Contempo 12 string archtop. I have heard word that there may be a Saturday appearance of "The Roycroft" Gypsy Model Manouche whose construction was documented amongst these very digital pages.
Hope to see you there but if you can't make it be sure to check my website and plan for next year! Here are a few visual tid-bits...

Default You ARE the BRIDGE BUILDER!

Very beautiful art with all of your bridges. The tiger is the most creative bridge I have ever seen. Have a great show. Was supposed to be there but had to cancel last week. Bummer!

More photos, please - I can't make it to Woodstock! That fretless bass sounds intriguing. . .

Here are a few more pics of the fretless bass....

It has a D-Tar under saddle and a three element K&K pickup that can be blended. The K&K helps to add air to the tone and make it sound more like a bass fiddle. The lightweight holly bridge helps keep the tone of the tape wound strings buoyant - plus it looks cool as the Zakim bridge. The bevel armrest feels great on such a large instrument too. It has a carved Adirondack top and a flat ovankol back and it shakes all over when played.

The Jungle banjo is a pretty out there but a way cool instrument. It is a combo of ideas from the client - Henri Rousseau theme; Hofner Beatle bass body; tulipwood & cocobolo, and myself unchained. I have a short video of bluesman Guy Davis going to frail-town on the Jungle-Jo at my web site: lehmannstrings.com
You can hardly believe the sound! Too sweet for a banjo, but what's that drone tone??? Click on the "Headstock News" for more pictures.
