Default NGD - Gibson Hummingbird Standard

For a long time I’ve been a ‘play whatever acoustic I can afford’ kinda guy, and there’s nothing wrong with that. In the past couple years, as I’ve moved up in my career and had a little more discretionary income, I’ve wanted to get into acoustics more as I’m primarily an electric guitar player. In the past I’ve had a D-16 Martin, a Taylor 114, some random Epiphones, etc.

I’ve always loved the Hummingbird, but until I got to try one, I didn’t know why aside from looks and some of my favorite artists play them.

I had a Gibson L-00 studio that played nice, but once I got a J-35 for my wife, the L-00 Studio, while a dream to play, just sounded weak and quiet. I also discovered that I’m more of a 000 and Dreadnaught guy. I decided to sell my L-00 and scored a great deal on my Hummingbird Standard and just got it yesterday. I can see why they’re such an iconic strummer. Sounds so sweet and incredibly easy to play (and look at).

Not sure how exactly to get a photo posted but I’m trying!

Congratulations on getting the 'Bird of your dreams. Really like the subtle burst on that one. Hope you enjoy it for years.

P.S. If you like a little deeper sound try some D'Addario Bluegrass 80/20s on it, mine sounds great with them.

Really nice burst, reminds me of the 1960s historic hummingbird!
