The coated strings I like to use are not Elixirs - there's no option for anything but nano and poly web - both too slippery and greasy to me.

Usually an uncoated Phos Bronze, although Monel/nickel alloys and nickel plated are starting to creep into the rotation.

Ernie ball Aluminum Bronze for my 6'ers. Still trying to find a sweet spot for the 12s, since so far EB refuses to make AB 12-string sets, and I can't find anyone whip will sell them individuallyso I could make a set. Ah well.

Martin MA540T, sadly, 12 days later got replaced with SIT Royal Bronze 12s when installed new tuning machines.

Ernie Ball Paradigms. But your poll doesn't really work for me.
EB calls them coated, and they last at least as long as Elixir Nanowebs (in my experience), but EB won't say what they're coated with (my guess is some kind of vapor-deposited metal or metal oxide). I use phosphor bronze on my carbon fiber RainSong and 80/20 (and sometimes EB aluminum bronze) on my cedar/EIR Kronbauer. |

I use John Pearse strings in whichever alloy best suits the guitar that it’s on. They’re uncoated strings.

Primarily John Pearse PB lights. Uncoated. And occasionally D’Addario EXP PB lights for a refreshing change from time to time. These are treated. So I checked PB on your poll — but the choices are not quite accurate. You can have coated or treated PB strings.

I use coated PB Elixirs. Coated because I like their longevity, and I don't like to change strings any more than I need to. PB because I think they have more consistent sound over their lifespan, and they're not as bright as 80/20's.
I use Elixir because I like the HD Light 13-53 gauge, and D'Addario doesn't have anything in that size. One of these days I'm going to try a set of XT's though just to see what they're like, and if they're any better. |

Same as above, I just prefer cheaper strings as Elixir is too expensive for me, and the fury of G strings is quite annoying.

Have you found any non-slippery coated strings?

I use John Pearse PBs or Martin Retro/monels depending upon the guitar and my mood. I will use the PBs on any of my guitars, but I like monels for a bit of a change and added longevity on my Hummingbird and Mahogany D.

I use Rotosound Jumbo King Phosphor Bronze medium light 12's. They work well on the J45.

Ernie Ball Paradigms. They feel and sound exactly like their (quite popular) uncoated Earthwood strings. But they last (in my experience) at least as long as Elixirs.
My only problem with Elixirs is the first-week slipperiness. But I absolutely can't stand that. And I'm not crazy about the fraying toward the end of their life. |
