Default AVALON A2-20

I am selling due to a couple of hand surgeries. This is an excellent guitar in near mint condition.

2015 Avalon A2-20 that I picked up recently but find the body is bigger that what I expected. It is in near mint condition, as is the Hiscox case. No fretwear whatsoever on the guitar, no modifications. Clear pickguard has not been attached and will be included in the case along with original paperwork showing the new purchase price of over $3100 when bought new in 2016. Set is perfect, 6/64" at the 12th fret bass side, 5/64 at the treble side. Shipping is to continental US only. Not interested in trades. More info below:

• Back and Sides: Solid East Indian Rosewood
• Top: Solid Alpine Spruce
• Nut and Saddle: Bone
• Scale length: 25 1/2" (648mm)
• Nut width: 1 3/4" (44mm)
String spacing - 2 3/16
• Lower Bout: 16" (406mm)
• Upper Bout: 11 7/8" (300mm)
• Waist: 9 7/8" (252mm)
• Tailblock Depth: 4 3/4" (120mm)

Hand crafted in Northern Ireland with a solid Alpine spruce top and solid rosewood back and sides. Ebony bridge, fingerboard, and tuner buttons. Bindings are solid pear wood. Bone nut and saddle. High quality Gotoh tuners.

Avalons are high quality instruments hand crafted by some of Europe's best luthiers! Avalon started out as Lowden Guitars, and became Avalon when George Lowden went his own way more than 10 years ago.

Avalons are built in the same shop by several of the same luthiers that were building Lowden branded guitars back then. Avalons are equal if not better in build quality to Lowdens, and have the same clear as a bell - like sound and ease of play, with a somewhat different tone. The differences, to the extent you can detect them, may be due to the different bridge styles (Avalons use bridge pins vs Lowdens through - the - bridge (Taylor style) approach. Avalon also uses two different proprietary bracing patterns, as well as a superior truss rod, the Gotoh Bi Flex.

Product Specs:

Condition:Excellent (Used)
Brand:Avalon Guitars
Model:A2-20

So sorry to hear of your hand surgeries. Best to you in your recovery.

That is a stunning guitar and a great price. If I could swing it, I'd have that beauty in a heartbeat. Good luck on your sale and again, best with your hands.

Are there any finish issues , cracks, checking, dings or scratches? Any bellying by the bridge , repairs of any kind. etc?

Is the A2-20 smaller than the L2-20?
More of an OM size?

Default Avalon a2-20

There are absolutely zero issues with this. The major reason I purchased it about a month ago was that it was in mint condition. I take pride in watching humidity levels with my guitars. This guitar is in the samemint condition as purchased here on the AGF.
Thanks for your interest.

RandyOK, I forgot to mention that it is a GA size, not a small jumbo. They used to refer to this size as an A size, versus the L size you referred to. Avalon renamed all of their models and shapes when they reorganized their company a couple of years ago.
Thanks

Default AVALON A2-20

I was the second owner of this guitar. I sold it to fund my Lowden and, as much as I love my Lowden, I’ve always regretted it and can’t afford to buy it back. I love this guitar. It’s clear in every register and lush with overtones. Excels in lower tunings but sounds great in standard as well.

Sure thing. If I wasn’t trying to fund an adoption right now I’d have sent you the money already.

This would be an outstanding gigging guitar, I bet. The A1-20 Avalon I owned was super balanced and punchy for a cedar guitar and had such a comfortable neck. This ones probably louder and better for flatpicking/strumming.

There are other possibilities, but that could be a potential scam scenario...just be careful.
