Default Anybody else love their early 80s Yairi Lowdens?

I just picked up a G7 Lowden and am blown away the market is letting these guitars go for shy of 2k. Anybody else have a Lowden made in Japan by Yairi's team? Really geeking out on this guitar right now!

yup, had one for a few months way back - Lowden design + Yairi build quality - a very good instrument and well worth snapping up a good condition one at typical market prices.
The one I had was Cedar / Ovangkol IIRC and I seem to remember a wood (rosewood?) scratch plate.
more stuff here - (not mine) -

I had one back in the 80s, excellent guitar, often wish I'd kept it.

S.Yairi made Lowdens made me aware of these guitars back in the beginning of the eighties. My brother had bought a S22 which sounded amazing. So I sold all my guitars (Yamaha F411, 1963 Gibson SG standard, S.Yairi Flamenco guitar) to afford a NOS L34 in 1985/6 when it popped up in a store nearby my home. Since then, it's the only guitar I've kept. All the others I bought, I sold them after a few months/years: they just couldn't stand the comparison! Now I only own three Lowdens

The Yairi you speak of is S. Yairi, NOT Kazuo Yairi right. They are related but a HUGE difference.
