Default NGD - Recording King RO10

I love my ROS-10 (12-fret) so much that I bought an RO-10 (14 fret) to complement it.

Early Observations:

Cosmetically, the RO-10 mahogany back/sides are more darkly stained than the ROS-10.

While the neck profiles are slightly different, I find both quite comfortable and easy to play.

It's hard to assess tone because the RO-10 came strung with D'Addario Nickel/Bronze strings (sigh. . . ).
As is, the RO-10 offers nice mids and balanced tone -- although changing to Earthwood Medium Lights over the weekend may alter that -- while the ROS-10 has a heftier bottom end.

All in all, it's a pretty fine solid wood guitar for a pretty reasonable price.

Now please turn your computer 45 degrees to view the pics

congrats. I have a few RKs, fun guitars. Never heard of the RO-10, but there are many RK models that have come and gone sadly. I have an RO-06, ROS-06, and RO-T16. I'm actually thinking of selling all three since I have sort of moved on to other makers. But they are great nonetheless.

So , you do or don't like the tone of the nickel bronze? I have personally found that a string type on my Martins that sound good , may or may not sound the same on my RKs. They tend to be even more woody and fundamental sounding than anything else I have.

The RO-10 is the all solid version of the RO-06.

I do not like the tone of the nickel/bronze strings, Sam-I-am
I would not play them with a goat, in a moat, or on a boat.

I would not play them here,
I would not play them there,
I would not play them anywhere.
