Cole Clark Nut Width
I'm in the process of having an OM built and am deciding what nut width and string spacing to go with. I really play my Cole Clark Angel 2 well; it's comfortable to me. Per their spec the nut width is 1.73" however when I mic it up I measure 1.75". Has anyone else come across or observed this? I can understand a certain amount of tolerance, but .020" seems a bit much on a critical spec.

Are you using a digital caliper? 2/100ths is pretty doggone miniscule and within a pretty reasonable margin for error as much as it's within a reasonable tolerance.
I'd call that 1 3/4 and not split the hairs. I actually thought CCs were always shown as 1 3/4" in the USA marketing. I've had a few and always just accepted it as 1 3/4 and it certainly felt like it to me. Also, technically, they give a metric of 44mm which is actually 1.73228....getting closer to the 1 3/4 |

I appreciate your input. Not using digital calipers...not sure why that would matter. It's 20/1000's of an inch difference. I am splitting hairs, but only because it matters to me. 1.73228" is far from 1.7500"....01772" difference. US markets these guitars as 1.73" nut width.

My CC measures right at the 44mm spec, or 1.732”. I prefer 1 3/4” or wider, but I can get around fine on the CC.

At one point I had 2 CC 12 strings. Both were supposed to have a 50 mm nut. One was closer to 49 mm and the other 50 mm. String spacing were the same though. I find string spacing a better metric these days.
