Default My never-ending gear quest never ends

I don't know why it took me as long as it did (10 years or so now) to join AGF, but here I finally am!

Every single time I make a new purchase I justify it as it being my last, and that way my guilt of having to pay off car/student loans, as well as save up to get out of the apartment I share with a close friend and the occasional mouse, subsides.

I don't think I have anything else at the moment...

Cheers,

Rob

Haha I feel you buddy! I just dropped a wonderful OM-28 off at UPS about an hour ago and am already browsing the web for it's replacement! Throw onto that my 814ce that I just can't seem to decide whether to keep or sell and I'm just a regular mess of GAS!!!!

Default never-ending quest

If it ended, it would no longer be a never-ending quest, would it?

I find that as a player progresses through the various levels of quality and sound that his standards slowly raise and what was once really good eventually isn't so impressive any longer. It is all relative. And it's all good.

I don't have a gear quest, I have a lifetime "become a better player every year" quest, that is never-ending, and I don't want it to end.........

Guitars to me are a means to an end, they are not the goal.

Well, welcome here (from one of the British guitar nuts here) but I warn you this forum will not help you assuage your GAS problem.

Welcome aboard!

Just remember.... Don't listen to the people saying you have a problem.. Everybody else is weird.

You are in good company by the way...

I honestly don't know how folks live without any hobbies... I mean seriously - go to work, come home, go to work, come home... The excitement of your life is Survivor and Bachlorette reruns.. Blllllllaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

I'm waiting for someone to tell me to stop buying guitars, someone with authority.

Took up the guitar at age 60 as it was one hobby that was not limited by my progressive vision loss. Immediately acquired a severe case of gas. I don't think that's a bad thing. Joined this forum to interact with others of a like mind.
