As far as I can see on the Martin US website, the GPC-15 and OMC-15 are discontinued as of this year. You can probably find them easily on the used market, I know you can in the states at least.
I think you may find the OMC version to be darker and warmer. The GPC that I have is surprisingly bright with retro strings. It's pretty close to my D-18 in tone. I have an older OM-15 as well, built with genuine mahogany as opposed to Sipo, and it tends to be much darker and fundamental sounding. I think Martin was trying for a more versatile instrument with the GPC-15 and they nailed it. Definitely a try before you buy situation though. |

What about the GPC-13E? Would this be preferable to the GPC-16E as I've found alot of the complaints are the smaller depth.
The GPC-13E comes in Ziricote or Mutenye whatever that means, not the Rosewood / Mahogany I am used to seeing. Also found a GPC11E with Sapale. All these are Sikta spruce |
