Based on what I've seen, that should be one heck of a build!

I have a build underway with Kathy Wingert. It's an E with maddie B&S Engelmann top, shoulder bevel (which I really need these days) and an inlay by Jimmi. Will post photos when it's ready.

And I should get my OM from Mike Baranik in 2017. I really fell for the koa OM he had at HGF 2013 and am looking forward to getting one myself. My first custom build was in 2006, a Baranik in walnut, and I am going to enjoy finding out how the two guitars compare in sound. Woods all selected, including a blue spruce top. Will also come with a shoulder bevel. I hope to do a build thread when the time comes.

Colin, good to hear from you. Can't wait to see the builds!

I have a 00 12-fret in the queue with Trevor Healy. The back and sides will be made using some very old flamed mahogany recycled from the Latvian Consulate with a top made from either Lutz or Katz Spruce. He will use Palisander on the fretboard. The front and back of the headstock as well as the bridge will also be made from Palisander. Trevor is a great guy and a talented luthier who has done outstanding work on my guitars. This will be my first commission with Trevor. I'm anxiously expecting delivery in July.

Does a small boutique shop count?

If so, I'll be getting a custom Huss & Dalton T-OM (short scale, bearclaw Italian spruce, Mahogany)

Nothing nailed down for sure, but I'm leaning towards Redwood over Braz from Steve Sheriff, one of his new Eclipse models. 24" scale.

2017 should see an end to my recent guitar acquisition phase for quite some time. I have the current Kinnaird build which is a deep bodied OM with Southeast Asian Rosewood with a Lutz top, beautiful thus far, but will have no real bling bling other than the beautiful woods and workmanship along with a nice 12th fret inlay.

I also have a 13 fret fan fret OM with a cutaway and soundport being made by a new AGF sponser luthier Steve Denvir from Canada. He posted a few months ago and was welcomed as a new sponser. This will be Ziricote with a really nice bearclaw sitka top and ebony bindings. This will be my first fan fret.

And lastly, like Skinnerb, I am on the list for Steve Sheriff of Edwinson guitars to also build me his new Eclipse OM model with Brazilian (which we have picked out a great set I think) and yet to be determined top. This may or may not be a fan fret also....This may not come around until 2018, however...we are not sure of a timeline yet.

After that, I am tapped out and thoroughly immersed in guitar heaven....but, likely living in the streets surrounded by guitar cases.

Smile Congrats!

I couldn't be happier for two of the nicest guys I know. Congrats! I can't wait to see these builds happen. Please post lots of pics, Colin and Matt. I would be happy with any one of these builds.

Late summer should see another Claxton coming my way. This one will be a Maple / German Spruce Malabar.

Hey John, what I'd really like to do is catch up with you and Juston when I actually come over to pick them up. After a fourteen hour plane flight to LA its just a short (well, 6 hours!) drive to each of you. Hope to see you both in 2017.

I have added a summary list to my initial post that summarizes what members said they were expecting in 2017.

http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=451419

I will try to update it as folks add to the thread...
