Hello folks!

Totally forget to update this thread. I took my new McNally home last week and have been too busy playing it!

It's a wonderful guitar. Sounds incredible in DADGAD. The low strings have great definition which is what impresses me most. My Lowden could be up for sale soon!

Looks like you've got a winner. I was really impressed with the Sitka/Indian OM I played at Cedar Rock awhile back. It was a "bare bones" model but I think you hit the nail on the head by saying it's a perfect blend of the European and American sound. Very playable and pure sounding. Enjoy!!

Thank you Dustin! Fig fan of your playing and I did indeed watch your video of that McNally. Sounded wonderful in your hands. I hope you're enjoying that Taran!

I've had a few McNally's pass through my hands at the shop, and they've been quite surprising! Really responsive and powerful instruments. First met Ciaran in London a few years back when travel was still a thing and played a couple of his guitars. Especially for his prices then, the guitars were certainly worth every penny. He has refined the build and tone over the years, and I suspect they would be even better now! Certainly looking forward to having another one for the shop later this year

Was most surprised by how responsive his Adirondack guitars were - responsive and open right out of the box which is hard to achieve even for some older guitars. I've played many luthier built guitars which are 10-20 years old in Adirondack and they still sound tight.

Will be following along this thread~

Hey Marcus! Thanks for the comment. I've yet to play one of his Adirondack guitars yet but I sure hope to some day. My guitar is finished now and I do love it. Needs to open up a little but that's to be expected. I did try post pictures a few comments above but failed miserably.

Ciarán invited me up to check out some of his latest projects but I've tested positive for covid unfortunately. Maybe next week! He builds a really fine guitar!

Man that's a beautiful guitar. I'm more about how they spund than how they look but that's a stunner. I love how he's matched up the sides to take advantage of the natural colours and grain of the wood. He did this with my Walnut back and sides OM too and it's beautiful craftsmanship.

I'm sure it sounds amazing. I hope it brings you pleasure for many years to come.

Thanks Coler! It's sounds really good but it's still quite tight.. spruce topped guitars always take a little longer to open so I'll keep giving it a good strum every day and see what it's like in a few months. I might be paying him a visit soon and it it's gonna be incredibly hard to leave without putting a deposit on a dreadnought.
