Default Found one! Huss and Dalton 00

Found one - Thanks AGF!
Just wondering if anyone would like to let go of a Huss and Dalton 00-SP with the following:

- rosewood back/sides
- Enngelmann top
- 1 3/4” nut

Thanks!

Just wishing you the best of luck. I'm partial to H&D 00s... I think they're the finest guitars H&D makes. Mine's a keeper. I bet yours will be too.

There is one with those specs at Artisan guitars. Used, but very recent build.

https://artisanguitars.com/huss-and-...-2017-id-12657

Wish I could pick that one up - they're great guitars.

Thanks - I am aware of a couple of them on Reverb - but just thought I’d see if any fellow AGF members might be a source for one.
Otherwise I’ll likely go back to reverb....

My 00-SP is a keeper too, best sounding and most responsive acoustic that I have owned (custom Adirondack top). Best of luck, it is worth the search!

Just curious - anyone who might know...

Would there be any much of a tonal difference between the 00 model and the 00-SP (slothead and pyramid bridge) model???

Thanks again!

I asked this question of Mark Dalton a number of years ago concerning both the 000 (SP) and the 00 (SP) and he told me that there is no difference in tone, volume etc. between the regular 00 / 000 and their SP varieties. The SP is primarily a cosmetic upgrade (slotted headstocks, pyramid bridges).

The most significant difference has to do with access to the truss rod. The non-SP versions have easy truss rod access at the headstock. This was something my guitar tech. was very happy about when I purchased the regular 000.

On the other hand - I personally think that the slotted headstocks on the SP are among the most beautifully carved headstocks you can find.

Mine is the "normal" (Abby Normal?) 00 model with the paddle instead of the slotted headstock, but it has a 1 7/8" nut and suitably wide string spacing with 2 5/16" at the saddle. It is a dream for fingerstyle.

Since everybody is talking about 1 3/4" nut, I assume the wider string spacing must be custom on mine. Since I have never seen another Huss & Dalton 00 in "real life", I don't know what else might be custom on it. I traded guitars for it used, so I don't know what was involved in the original transaction, nor what these should sell for.

Those here who think quite highly of Huss & Dalton 00 are definitely thinking right.

Thanks all. Much to think about.

I did receive a beautiful H&D 00-SP via UPS this past Tuesday from the Fret Mill... (Reverb ad).

I ended up returning it because, after asking for specs from H&D with the serial number, they said it was a "custom order" since it has a 1 7/8" nut.

Loved the guitar - but, having small hands, the wider nut was too much to handle.

It does seem that these custom 1 7/8" nut models seem to not have the demand that the narrower nut models have. Mine sat apparently for months before I came along, which is why I was able to make a trade.
