Soldering Iron Dent Repair
Does anyone know the correct temperature to dial in on the soldering iron to do dent repairs?

Hot enough to turn the water in a damp cloth to steam. I use a simple "one-speed" soldering iron and a damp cotton cloth and it works every time on dents.

I don’t use a soldering iron, i heat a flat blade (spatula butter knife or similiar) with a torch and then place wet cloth on the surface and use the flat blade to steam the cloth

I’ve only had occasion to steam a couple of dents. In both cases, I let the soldering iron get very hot. Then, I put some water in the dent, letting surface tension keep the water above the surface in a little pillow of sorts. I touched the top of the water with the soldering iron being careful to not touch the surface because the iron was hot. When the soldering iron touched the water, there was furious boiling and popping and when it was over, the dent was gone.
