I experiment a lot with bridge pins, but I have yet to try titanium. I have found that some look like a million bucks but sound like crap, and some look like crap and sound like a million bucks. I am still looking...great thread for those of us afflicted with Bridgepin fever.

Jaybee1404>> Mike, does your D-28 have a bridge with slotted pin-holes?

Yes...

Thinking about your question made me go look at the specs at Martin's web
page... they were there a day or so ago... it is like their "discontinued" section
is gone now ... so I looked the specs up at Maury's:

BRIDGE & END PINS: Bone w/ Black Dots

I don't see how my deformed bridge pins could be bone, is bone elastic or brittle?

I looked over on UMGF and a fellow who got a new one when they were new
said:

I just got my new Authentic and I love this thing. I changed out strings and noticed that the pins are fairly pliable plastic, somewhat bent and twisted

Mike McLenison>> Whatever you choose make sure the taper is correct.

My wife has a set of calipers, I'm going to make sure one or the other of the
ones I ordered seem right before I use them...

EDIT: I'm still going to measure but I just finished reading the UMGF thread I
referred to above, and someone mentioned more pin specs there which I
just compared to the specs on the waverlys I ordered, and the standard
waverlys match what he said...

Mike, there was no indication in your post that your guitar is an Authentic - if there had been I wouldn’t have asked the question! A D-28 is a different beast to a D-28A in many ways - as I’m sure you’re aware!

I traded a HD-28 for my 1931 Authentic d-28 a few weeks ago.
They're pretty different ...

Somehow "my 1931 Authentic D-28" sounds like "my fancy-schmancy
Superior D-28" when I'm just talking, but when we're writing stuff down
here it pays to be specific...

BEWARE : ALL pins are not EXACTLY the same size.
I fell to the floor when I happened to discover that !
