Anyone Else Recording w/ a Korg D1600 ? Help !
If you are, have a problem I'm trying to solve with the use of external effects:
I am using the AUX OUT to send signal to my Lexicon Reverb. My Analog Inputs are completely used up, so I'm bringing the return signal from the Lexicon into the S/PDIF INPUT. The problem is, with the D1600 if you enable the "Digital In", you loose ALL of the Insert Effects. This is a bummer. Anyone have any suggestions ? |

I sometimes record with a D16 (predecessor to the D1600). From what I have been able to ascertain, by poking around on the D1600 in stores, the units are very similar.
I often use the digital inputs to import reference tracks from CDs. But I have never needed to add live effects to those tracks as they were coming in, so I can't comment on your dilema. But once recorded, I can add effects to them with no trouble. Overall, I find the Korg product to be a mixed blessing. Very simple to operate (thank goodness, because I am rather dumb), but also having some profound limitations, one of which is the fact that at most you have 3 simultaneous output channels. Bogus! I am hoping they will come out with something super duper to compete with Roland's and Yamaha's 24 track units. I like the way they think, but they need a meaner machine. |
