Hey DrDavid,
Indeed I live in the far northern Arctic region amongst the moose and maple trees - Richford to be specific - not that far from Stowe! Thanks so much for bringing me on board as a CoM member; there could be no better welcome! A day for celebration!

Very very cool video, Dermot. It must have made you feel somewhat more secure that you were flanked by talented musicians!

Is this still "Clanú"? (officially). You need to post the vid on your myspace page.

P.S. 1-1, as you know, at Anfield opening.

Hmmm, I wish when I played an Am chord it sounded that interesting. Great stuff.

Mac Giolla Rua = "red-haired youth's son"? Love it! And if there's any "fierceness" in that "rua," I'm having a hard time imagining that, from what I know of you and your reputation...

Nice video, btw! Makes me itch all the more to dig up some sessions when I'm in Connacht next week. And I second the motion to link it to your company's site: impressive whistle and fiddle (and the guy on guitar's not too bad, either ).

Default McIlroy Guitars and mandos and gazooki

I became the owner of an ASP30 in May this year. I bought it in a wee guitar shop in Newcastle (England).

My best guitar by far and loud!

Just ordered a G30 Gazooki. In discussions with Dermot on this he sent me a snap of a mando-zooki(?). I noticed on a previous post someone queried about them. Once I figure out how to upload it I will. Advice on how to do so appreciated.

This is my first time using a forum so patience please.

Cheers to you all

Pat

Welcome, Pat.

You are the newest official member of the CoM, a status achieved by few, and envied by many!

Yes, please post some photos of the ASP-30 if you can. And the G30, as well!

The "P" in "ASP" means the body depth is a smidgeon shallower than an "AS" model, right? This is designed for comfort of playing in live performance. My AJP is the same idea -- a slightly shallower version of a full jumbo (AJ).

Here is the up to date CoM membership:

"Honorary" means a great admirer of McIlroys, but not (yet) a current owner.

Please keep providing suggested additions/corrections to the list !!

Default AS30c Pictures

As promised several weeks ago, here are photos of my AS30c. This is my first try at this, so I hope they show up! I can't say enough great things about this guitar, and the good news is that now she has a bigger sister -an AD20 acquired a few days ago. In 45 years, I've owned and played some extraordinary instruments, but never anything like these! I should have photos of the AD20 within the next few days, and I'll post them ASAP.
By the way, DrDavid, I'm MIA on the latest CoM list. I hope the delay in posting the photos didn't disqualify me!

Well, obviously, there's a problem here. The photos at these links are miniatures! I'm not sure what went wrong; any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Jim,

Sorry about your name dropping off the CoM list. My error, now corrected.

Hey, perhaps a good song title, though -- "MIA from CoM" !

Hopefully you can get your photo links straightened out, too. Would love to get a good look at your McIlroy siblings.

Thanks for getting me back on the roster, DrDavid; all is well! I'm not much of a songwriter, but "MIA from the CoM" may have some potential!

May I join the COM please?
I've ordered my second (!) A55 cocobolo-cedar 2 months ago and I am not considering myself being a lunatic. I am pretty sure that these guitars are really something extraordinary.
Mcilroy guitars are just the best fingerstyle guitars I've ever encountered on this planet.

Best regards
Igor

Wow, Iggy!

A huge welcome to you. You may be our record-holder for most McIlroys under one roof! Super excellent.

You have gone immediately onto the CoM roster (see updated list in post above), and I believe you may be nominated next for a seat on the Board of Directors.

Thanks for posting the photo link, too. Lovely herd there!

All the best to you.

Thanks DrDavid.
I would be really honored with my new position .
If anyone has any concrete question where I may jump in with an advice, please do not hesitate to ask.
At this moment my humble advice to you is: if you like spruce go with the Italian spruce--> the tone is pure magic!

All the best to you all.
