Thanks - it's great fun to assemble and explore all the sounds available with it. Ironically, alot of my playing of late has been unplugged since moving to a smaller Church meant less volume! - so I don't use it as much as I would like....

I'm using a 2nd Marshall 1965 cab, a straight-front 1965B, instead of the 2x12 pictured on the left. I'm in the process of converting the B from 4x10 to 2x12 though.

OK, anyway.

Electric guitars, there's several In order of preference *right now* (it changes from time to time): Thorn Artisan Master (pictured), Gibson Firebird V, custom Fender Tele Custom, PRS Swamp Ash Special, Gibson Les Paul, and the other guitars after.

Amps: Koch Twintone 50W head - it's an EL-34 powered 2-channel beast that can do everything from super-sparkly clean to modern scooped-mids high-gain crunch. Other amp is a Marshall handwired reissue 2061X - Lead & Bass 20 - best of the best Marshall sound from the late 60s/early 70s but at a far lower volume than you'd expect!

Pedals (in order from a signal chain perspective): Dunlop Hendrix Wah, Loooper w/1 loop & a Tuner Mute, Boss TU-2 tuner, Tone Bone 'Switchbone' active A/B/Y box so I can run both amps on stage, and a Line 6 Modulation Modeler (many chorus effects, only goes to the Twintone). I also use a pair of modified Boss BD-1 (Blues Driver) pedals as clean boosts, 1 for each amp, but they're not in the picture because I hadn't added them to my pedalboard at the time.

The things under the cabs are Auralex 'Gramma' amp 'stands' - they isolate your speaker cab from the floor, making sure your bass frequencies aren't absorbed by the floor, carpet, wood, etc. Makes a huge difference, especially when recording.

I mic my cabs with Sennheiser e609 mics or a Studio Projects C3 large-d condenser.

Cool Electric Rig, eh?

This is easy.
2004 Gibson Melody Maker

sometimes into a Baggs Para D.I. for clean gain

into a VOX AD30VT combo. It's like 11 amps in one and way louder than it looks!

That's all folks!

I am primarily an electric player but I dont "Gig" out as I am still relatively a beginner compared to most guys that I tinker with. I have 2 David McNaught Singlecuts, a McNaught Pheonix, an Ovation acoustic/electric and I just aquired a Joe Driskill Diablo. I play through a Scott Splawn Pro Mod and Splawn 2 x 12. I am somewhat partial to guitar and amp builders that are local to me as both Splawn and McNaught are located within 2 hours of my house and I have spoken directly with them on several occasions. I also have a mesa boogie combo amp that was my first quality amp that I just cant bring myself to let go of as I have listed it on ebay on a few occasions now and removed it

Hey, Chiba...

That Marshall 2061X is a very sweet rig.

I have the 1974X 18 watt hand wired reissue. Playing through that thing is like taking a trip in a time capsule!

That would be:
Epiphone Les Paul Venetian Hollowbody
Epiphone Emporer Regent
Ibanez AG75 Hollowbody
Les Paul "Frankenstein"
Squire Strat (heavily customized)

played through a Digitech processor or staight distortion pedal and a Fender tube Twin Reverb.

Mostly jazz, blues, swing and some raunchy rock and roll.

In our band we play a variety of 60's and 70's songs, so i have to have some flexibilty when I do play electric.. it is the case though that i only play electric on like 4 songs for that group. I have a 2002 les paul standard plus going straight into a hot rod deville 212. After replacing the power tubes and rebiasing, it sounds so smooth and I can get a nice crunchy tone when I want to with the "more drive" button. With the band I usually use the regular drive channel with the drive on about 9 out of 12 and the mid and bass on about 6.

It's really a fantastic rig.. when we were practicing the other day, my girlfriend said "at one point I looked over because it sounded like you were singing, but you were playing your guitar". nice!

Gibson Nighthawk LTD (Sequoia)->
Mesa Boogie Mark IV

In the Boogie's loop I have a Chandler Stereo Digital Echo and a Peavey Valverb for reverb and tremelo. The Valverb stays on, with a little reverb and just a hint of tremolo, most of the time when I'm using a clean sound--which is most of the time I'm playing. The echo comes on for super texture.

Every once in a while I add an Emma Discobombulater (auto-wah) in front of the amp, but there are nights when I don't even plug it in.

Love the finish on that Jackson, I used to have a Soloist SL1... but the Strat I have now is much more me. Love the Jackson look, though. Enjoy yours!
