So cool! Looks like you and Mike are pushing boundaries design wise like we did with our Meridian.

I am delighted to see this duo finally come to fruition. I remember hearing about this commission Speaking with Mike back in the summer of 2013 (Yikes! Time flies...).
The Arts & Craft aesthetic that you like is actually a bit older than you describe (1920s). This design movement started in the UK in the 1860s as a reaction to the ornate aesthetics of Victorian design. It eventually moved the US and was in its " hey day" in the US between the turn of the century to about the beginning of World War I. The movement still existed after that, but wound down in its popularity until its revival again in the 1990s. I look forward to seeing Mike's "take" on the aesthetic. It is one of my favorites!

Baraniks
Phil,
It's so awesome to watch these Baranik twins come to fruition. Thanks so much for posting. As others have mentioned, the woods and build quality are top notch. I can't wait to see everything under finish. I really like the LS Redwood top and the rosette with the leaves. I can't wait to see how the side sound ports turn out as well. I will certainly use this build as inspiration for my own build next year with Mike. Congratulations!

It doesn't surprise me that Mike has so many repeat customers from AGF.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of these two. Its always exciting to see how Mike's designs come together in his guitars. He is truly gifted in this area and has a great eye for using wood bling. Looking forward to see this one come together.

Thanks Matt!
John - pretty close but not quite ... Stained glass played a part in many of the designs I like... And we decided to try the McIntyre Feather pickups for each, rather than K&K minis. Both are very good; Mike's had good success with the McIntyres more recently. None of my Baraniks had either - my Meridian has a Highlander (active). It is very good, but I'm really liking the passive K&K in two other guitars I have. Keep 'em guessing...! Phil |

I'm guessing these are actually "arts and crafts" frets, made by EVO as a custom order for Mike

Ok - I had just been waiting for someone to guess anything... here's the pictorial explanation: (The white "binding" is just to hold the purflings in place while they set up. The bindings will be some dark wood of Mike's choice...) |
