Definitely the right place, but it seems it’s not the right time .

There are now three in the Seattle area, plus a 00.

Thanks All
when it rains it pours.
A number of them have popped up in the last 24 hours.
Not sure I want to go with one made in the 90s but I'll do some research before I make a decision

I stopped in at Mike and Mikes yesterday and had a look at the Webbers. (I drive within a few blocks of them every week, when I pick up my business mail at West Lake Union).

They all sounded like webbers, that is, a touch dry with great clarity string to string, with variation due to the body size and back woods. All three seemed to be in excellent condition, although I didn't fine tooth comb them.

The Maple backed guitar was my least favorite, although that was due to the maple, which I am not a big fan of. Crisp and clear, punchy and a bit mid-rangy. Next was the OO, backed with Rosewood. This was dead center in my wheelhouse, normally. But I really didn't need another 00 and am not going to part with any of what I have. Sparkly trebles, nice low end for such a small guitars, overtones that did not overwhelm the Webber clarity.

I really liked the Brazilian-backed OM. Reminded me of the one-that-got-away that my friend had in his store once. I intended to buy it, once I set aside a few dollars to put down on it, but neglected to tell my friend, so he sold it. Great tone, this one.

And before leaving I had a go with the 1958 Martin 000-28 that they have. I really, really want, but it is far above my pay grade. This is why I don't go into music stores that often anymore. Nice store.

OMMV

Thanks for the review. The Brazilian would be sweet to own but as you say, above my pay grade. I have some gear I put up for sale locally (Great River pre amp and an Apogee Rosetta converter along with a guitar) if they sale I might consider the Brazilian. I am spoiled by my Webber Round body, both in regards to sound and what I paid for it.
