Nutshell and Rooster by Alice in Chains,
Say it Aint So and Island in the Sun by Weezer,
Good Riddance and When I Come Around by Green Day,
Where is My Mind? by the Pixies
Various Beatles songs...Let it Be, Yesterday, Rocky Racoon,
among others!
I love the version of "Where is My Mind" by City Wolf. Is the guitar part fairly easy to learn?

I have heard the City Wolf version, But as a beginner I think its a good song to practice because it has barre chords in it. So if your comfortable with barre chords its not that hard.

And the little lick in the middle sounds good and is easy to play.
and Say It Aint So, by Weezer is basically the same chords except backwards.

Since I got Signe up to speed, I've been enjoying playing along with the MP3 and with the metronome

My own arrangement to Accustomed to her Face

My own arrangement of Cyndi Lauper's Time after Time--in open position the melody falls right under the fingers with ease

The song I'm working on slowly now is Martin Simpson's Jock O'Hazeldean, which when he plays it makes me tear up...it does when I play it too but in this case, more like how a whiff of oven cleaner makes me tear up. I'll get it one day, though.

And, with the pick, "Secret Agent Man" which makes me laugh for its datedness: "Swingin' on the Riviera one day" Yeah, those were the days, when Secret Agents "swung."

Bessie Smith - "Electric Chair Blues"
Blind Boy Fuller - "Truckin' My Blues Away"
Blind Blake - "Chump Man Blues"

And for something completely different - The Easybeats - "Friday on My Mind"

On lap steel I have been having a blast with "Mercury Blues" copped from David Lindley and have gone back to working on "Hold Onto God's Unchanging Hand."

I've been drawn to some "original" country rock bands like Amazing Rhythm Aces and Pure Prairie League. Working on "Amie" by PPP, particularly the lead-in flat picking bit. The chords are pretty easy, and it's a fun song.''

Also been doing "Farway Eyes" by the Stones. Like I said, into a country-rock vein these days.

Most recent addition to my songlist is "Little Lion Man" by Mumford & Sons.

The reality is, if a really hot girl asks me to learn a song and it's not Lady Gaga or something, I usually do.

I've been working on Blind Blake's "Diddie Wa Diddie" since late July... Three chords, but not the easiest style, I am finding. It's the speed that really keeps it a challenge.

And working on variations for Blind Boy Fuller's "Meat Shaking Woman". I want to vary each verse, playing his version only on the first verse. It's a lot of fun, but never sure when it's "done".

Justin Sandercoe has a good lesson. http://www.justinguitar.com/en/ST-504-DockOfTheBay.php It uses open chords, but the version I use is barre chords. I started with Justin's version, then saw the standard sheet and switched to barre chords. It's really easy either way.

Three songs from Jethro Tull's Aqualung:

Cheap Day Return
Mother Goose
Wondering Aloud

Today I just learned the little riff from Mother Goose. I've always wanted to learn it since I started playing 30+ yrs ago. I actually got goose bumps the first time I did it without errors just a couple of hours ago. It's a cool feeling. Playing the riff, that is, not the goose bumps.

There are limits. A really hot girl once asked me to learn a song with which I wasn't familiar. I then listened to it and figured there were plenty of other hot girls.

Sungha Jung's version of Im Yours
Constantly progressing/perfecting through Jaw's/Chamberlain's version of California Dreamin
among others that i am focusing much more on tone rather than memorizing and playing.
