Just an idea/layout, but I think I'm going to break my old acoustic pedalboard down and put something like this together.
Not really using the FISHMAN Aura Spectrum (on current board) much, as I prefer Impulse Responses and there's EQ, Comp, Reverb ect.. in the AMT Pangaea CP-100, and in the G3. It'll be nice to have the vocals and guitar covered on such a compact board for small acoustic duo stuff. Just add mic's, mic stands, cables and powered speakers. Will still have the option of running just the wet acoustic guitar signal from the G3 XLR out if a bigger/better P.A system is used. Anyway, just an idea I had, I think it'll work out for a small simple setup. Of course I will test everything before putting it together. Last edited by ccouch7; 03-14-2020 at 04:15 AM. |

Would it be wrong if we revive this thread? I'm just curious...

Mine has certainly changed. Here's my acoustic pedalboard. Tuner, volume, LR Baggs Voiceprint, reverb, chorus, delay, looper. Not necessarily in that order. I can get shimmer from both my reverb and/or the Canyon Delay. Works well for my application (p & w music)

This is looking great! I'm a little curious about the Voiceprint.
I'll post mine here later, but (spoiler alert) it is currently with a Felix2, Strymon Deco, Strymon El Capistan, Strymon BlueSky and a Empress ParaEQ (yes... might be overkill sometimes, but I really like to have a little more EQ than my Felix2 provides).

My pedalboard is like this at the moment. I decided to go with the DECO instead of the LR Baggs Session because it works well with steel and nylon string guitars (I don’t think Baggs works well with nylon). I use the Felix to scoop the sound the way I want, and then I use the PARAEQ to tame the bad frequencies in the room. The Bluesky is feeding the mixer with sends for my vocals and acoustic guitar. I really think I have all I’ll ever need here. I’m working with the cabling at this moment, to keep everything neat, and I’m using this board for solo gigs, small groups (violin, piano, sometimes percussion) and even for recordings. My vocal mic is a DPA 4018L (D:Facto), and the pickup system on my acoustic is a K&K Pure Mini paired with a DPA 4099. My main out goes from the SiX into a RME Babyface, into a Mac, using Totalmix to have a little more EQ control for people that are with me (percussion really needs a little EQ to sound right). If I’m solo, It goes just out of the SiX into a L1 Compact or K10.2.

That’s the first time I see a SSL console in a pedal board!

Yeah, Pete. The SiX is a great little tool for a single artist and really small groups. Compression, simple EQ and a lot (A LOT) of flexibility and routing. I’m really liking this combination at the moment.

Well, a few years on and everything on that old pedal board (except the ISO5) was sold and replaced with this ... Far, far better sound in every way.

Hi Daniel,
A few questions. Does the TC IR loader go before the sun audio unit? If so, are you only providing EQ from that Sun Audio device? Also, where did you get the IR’s for your loader? Thanks in advance. |

Here is my pedal board, which consists of:
- Carl Martin Acoustic Gig (parametric EQ, clean boost, compressor, reverb, delay, tuner) - EHX 95000 6 track looper - Boss WAZA Chorus - Boss WAZA Dimension C - Boss WAZA tuner - Voodoo Labs X4 power supply - D'Addario XPND pedal board PedalBoardScaled2.jpg The effects are pretty much analog. I believe one of either the reverb or delay on the Carl Martin Acoustic Gig is considered "hybrid" digital and analog, but the rest of it is analog. The EHX 95000 looper has an AUX input that I run my Samsung S8 Ultra tablet into so I can listen to my guitar and lessons on the tablet together through headphones. I use the looper in lieu of a recorder to listen to how I am doing. With 6 tracks, I can easily do several attempts and compare results. This is great for instant feedback when arranging a tune. I prefer using a looper instead of a recorder to record myself because it is instant with no messing around with gain staging, mic placement, etc. The EHX 95000 uses microSD cards so I can save practice recordings if I choose to. I chose the Boss WAZA effects because these can be very subtle to the point that you don't hear them working, but notice that something is missing when you disable them. This serves to add life to amplified acoustic since it loses something otherwise in the process of amplifying without becoming obvious that an effect is in the mix. I chose the Carl Martin not only because they make really nice effects, but also because other than the tuner, there is no duplication on it from my external pedals. I use this pedal board and tablet in a manner similar to how language learning labs and piano labs used to be set up in college. I don't know if that is done anymore. On my tablet, I have all my guitar courses as video, audio, and PDFs. Instead of having to be online streaming, I tend to download all of the course content to my tablet and most of the time, I don't enable wifi at all, preferring to have everything local to my tablet. Also, I much prefer the tablet to using a computer because all I have to do is point at what I want instead of having to use a mouse and keyboard. Very handy, intuitive, and fast. Tony
