Strings for an old Gibson ES-330 wound G
My daughter-in-law inherited her dads 70's era ES-330. Don't think it's ever been played and has the original strings.
Looking for recommendations for general purpose strings with a wound G. thanks!

D'Addario Chromes flatwound, 11-50 - easy on the fingers (but still enough tension to let her got some "wood" into the tone), let you set the action far lower than with roundwoulds, and IME an excellent match for P-90 pickups...

Do you mean EJ21? Those are the 12-52 with wound G. The EJ12 look like an acoustic set of strings.

Oops. Yeah, transposed the numbers. Fixed now.

Keep in mind that if you go to a 12-52 you will probably have to adjust the setup. Most of the 330s that I have ever played had much lighter strings on them than 12’s. Mostly 9s and 10s. Also, the 330 is a full hollow body which is why they almost all have trapeze tail pieces. So they lack the center block that provides strength and stability to the 335, 345, 355 guitars. Plus they can be feed back prone in a higher gain application.
