I just bought a 2003 600-SPEC (610 dread) at a GC in Cherry Hill, NJ last week in excellent condition for slightly more than half that and felt it was slightly over priced, but fell in love with the playability and tone. Very loud and transparent maple tone. Bright as expected, but not too bright or the typical Taylor bright that I have never been a fan of. An excellent complement to my IER and Hog dreads. The abalone binding and extra appointments are not my thing, but I assume cool to most. Looking forward to Summer Strumming!

2003 was literally the "year of special editions" for Taylor so you're not doing yourself any favors by not posting pics/details. I bought my 714CE LTD Cocobolo/Sitka in 2003, they also had Transparent Red and Blue 614CE LTD's as well as Red and Blue 600 Presentation series Maple guitars, and then yet another Flamed Maple 614 LTD in a natural finish with maybe Koa binding? Hot Rods, Running horses, etc. Like I said it was the year of limited editions that coincided with the intro of the ES system.
