Default Ovation guitar question

I have an Ovation CE44P with a stripped truss rod nut. Can the nut be replaced on this model guitar? Truss rod is accessed through the access hole in the back of the body. I would hate to do major work on this guitar as I got it really cheap. I guess I now know why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default a thought

A stripped truss rod nut is an altogether different problem compared to a stripped truss rod. Is OP sure which (maybe even both) is/are stripped?

Thanks for the reply. The truss rod is operational at the moment. It looks like the wrong size wrench was used to adjust and has rounded the hex head. Using a slightly larger wrench I can turn it but I would like to correct the problem before it gets worse.

Oh, THAT kind of stripped...

I'm no help. I don't know a thing about Ovation truss rods.

I hope this can be worked out.

If you're on Facebook, there's an ovation owners group that could probably answer that question for you. It it's called the Ovation instruments collectors board

There are several Ovation related groups on Facebook. Ovation Fan Club is one, Ovation Guitar Players Community is another. People there will either be able to help you or direct you to someone who can.
