I had a request for information about the bottom seam:
It is not peeling or rough, as the finish is not broken. This is how it came from the factory. See the picture.

Gibson Folks, is this normal? I know they can be inconsistent when it comes to quality control but this seam looks odd.

Hi lossforgain, great looking guitar! I'm curious if it is a factory second because of the issue on the back seam? Thanks

cheer and I have traded messages about this. Here is the picture of the back of the headstock to prove it is NOT a factory second. I have the original sales receipt from 2016 as well proving it’s legit and not a second.

This is purely cosmetic and while I understand it will bother some people, it’s still factory. You couldn’t do anything to fix it without breaking the factory finish. Personally, I would rather have a guitar that doesn’t look perfect but sounds great, instead of a guitar that looks perfect but doesn’t make my ears smile. This one sounds fantastic, and as we all know, not all of them do.

I don’t think Gibson even sells factory seconds.

I have never seen Gibson, Martin, Taylor or Larrivee sell blems or b stock. I do not believe its in their marketing business model to do that.

I have bought B stock Cordobas, Guilds and Godin guitars.

Gibson definitely has done it in the past. I once owned a black Gibson Dove that had a 2 clearly stamped under the serial number on back of the headstock.

That being said, I personally have only seen it on Epiphones and even then it’s been several years. This guitar is definitely, absolutely not a second.

Bumping this one back up, I have now listed on Reverb for more, and it’s still the cheapest one there by a few hundred dollars. So this is a fantastic deal!

The diagonal dent in the photo- Where on the guitar is this?
