Wow, sweet Les Pauls! Which ones are the Heritages? Guessing that the last two are historic Gold tops?

The usual gang of Gibson suspects:
1974 Kalamazoo-built LP Standard, 2016 SG Standard '61 Reissue Limited Edition, 2005 ES-335 DOT, 2018 LP Standard T The '74 has been with me since '77. The ES-335 is the center of my studio kit. The 2018 Standard T might be the apple of my eye. It has lovely lovely chatoyance and is two pounds lighter than the '74. Bob

This pair of Teles says alot about modding guitars. I don't know which one of these I like better, as they are that ridiculously close in tone and feel. The MIM 50's Tele is a guitar I paid not very much for, I think it cost me $650 brand new, and with the mods and a better case it cost about $1200 total. The custom shop model below was a guitar that sold at a street price of about $3400. So if you think you need a custom shop model, you don't, you just have to play every reasonably priced Tele you can find
Mexico 1950's Tele reissue with some mods I did (Van Zandt Vintage Tele pickups, new CTS pots and Spraque cap, anodized aluminum pickguard and control plate, brass saddles). The guitar was great even before I modded it. This guitar sounded better than any other Tele in a store that had plenty of high end Teles. I couldn't walk out of the store without buying it 2012 Custom Shop Deluxe Telecaster. This one is bone stock, and sounds great. Twisted Tele pickups that combine a Strat like neck pickup with a hot broadcaster style bridge pickup. The middle position rocks. The six saddle bridge intonates perfectly! I typically wouldn't spend custom shop money on a bolt on neck guitar like a Tele, but I got a great deal on this, as a high end guitar store liquidated their inventory, and the guy that bought a bunch of Teles from that store, decided he would pass the savings on to me. I really like rosewood fingerboards, and this one is great, with a nice round over and medium jumbo frets which makes it very comfortable to play. Since we have some time on our hands I guess I can nerd out on descriptions.
The gtrs may look similar but sound quite different. Both have the only neck specs i do, a semi-chunky style, very soft V w/ an 1 3/4ths nut. I do other fingerboards, pau ferro, rosewood and ebony but maple/maple is my personal favorite. The brown Koa/Mahogany (chambered) guitar i call a t90 model has a custom (exclusive to me) a Budz p90 w/ alnico 3&5 magnets and a Budz 10k bridge pickup. Lot's of output for a single coil gtr but still articulate and not muddy,... has been my main gigging electric gtr for years. It hits the tube preamp section w/ a good amount of juice and juggling the Master/Gain controls on the amp, it's easy to get creamy w/ the p90 without using any overdrive or fuzz box. Think an articulate Clapton "woman tone". The red t90, w/ a swamp ash top and mahogany body, (not chambered) has a new Budz pickup model, a p90 w/ alnico8 magnets and a Budz 6.6k bridge pickup. The alnico8 is more like a jazz pickup, clear w/ a nice bottom but not flabby, the 6.6 bridge is the best and most unforgiving t-style bridge pickup you've ever heard. Now that I'm not gigging it'll get that middle p90 alnico8 pickup. This gtr has gone through lot's of changes from a three pickup "Nashville" style to traditional two pickup t-style, it was an Esquire style for awhile but this current set up is "my sound" I love it. When I add the middle pickup it'll have a new Oak Grigsby CRL 6 way switch w/ your standard 5 way sounds plus the sixth position w/ neck and bridge which you can't get w/ a traditional 5 way. Hoping the third pickup doesn't change the nature of the guitar, I'm optimistic. I've been using Goodsell tube amps over ten years, the gold sparkle Super17 (EL84 based) has been my main gigging amp, about 19watts w/ an Eminence Legend 1258 (ceramic). I've had maybe a dozen speakers in the amp over the years, the 1258 just works in the amp, I got the speaker after it was broken in on tour w/ the great Australian guitarist Geoff Achison. Goodsell's wonderful tube driven tremolo and reverb on board. The Fawn colored unit is a Goodsell V6 (6V6 tubes) w/ a 12" WGS Black & Blue alnico speaker, more "fendery" but still a Goodsell, nothing pointy or obnoxious in the top end. Around 12 watts, love the amp, again, w/ Goodsell's wonderful tube driven tremolo and reverb on board. The oxblood unit is the newest Goodsell model he calls the "Enhanced 5F11" w/ 5881s. Gloriously clean and pure w/ the equally glorious Goodsell tube driven tremolo (no reverb). I'd guess around 10watts. Sports a 12" Goodsell branded custom WGS (ceramic) that's perfect for the amp. If i were OCD, I would have straighten the amp for the pic but I don't mind a small bit o' disorder. |

Wow - Love it! I also have a 2017 but it's the heritage cherry. I had to double check the Gibson website - it doesn't show the 2017 in that beautiful tobacco color. Is it a standard production model?

https://www.long-mcquade.com/82786/G...td-Edition.htm I did a tiny mod by getting rid of the kidney shape tuner buttons on the stock locking tuners for a set of keystone buttons.

Is this the Sweetwater exclusive Princeton with the 12" Cannabis Rex? I'm hoping to pull the trigger on one soon once the world resumes.
