using a HD-130 Music Man head, running on low power is 65 watts, has a switch for 4 or 8 ohms

I wouldn't hesitate to run at least 14ga in that cab. 65W into 4 ohms is a good bit of amperage. On top of that, a tube amp can reach significantly higher than stated power when in overdrive - as much as 50% or more depending on the design.
