Or maybe a company bought out CA, and decided to abruptly stop prod in the U.S. and move everything to China.

Glad I pulled the trigger on my CA legacy tobacco burst last month. I could care less about the warranty, it is such a great guitar and now not really replaceable. It would be interesting to see what the total production for these various models were. It is probably not that much compared to many other guitars; they never really developed a great distribution network. This is so sad, say thanks to the "Great Recession" I am sure there will be more to go down.

I was hoping to save up for a raw Legacy. I really hope all the workers are okay and can find a job soon.

I am not sure that making a good CA guitar will be as easy as just buying their equipment. There was a lot of knowledge that they acquired over the years. The issue may be that the process really is not as economical as wood guitars. And maybe they just couldn't price the guitars high enough to bet the profit they needed.

All factors considered, I think (hope?) that someone is DEFINITELY buying out or going to buyout CA. Maybe Kaman? Imagine, CA guitars with cool tube. Or cheaper carbon fiber guitars manufactured in China.

Any chance of a fire sale?

Maybe, but I think it would be foolish on the dealer's part. CA's just went up in value, I think, and there's no reason to sell at MAP anymore.
Now, more than ever, it'll pay to shop around. If a dealer can afford to wait, he ought to be selling his inventory at a premium, while the next guy may be selling at a discount because of cash flow problems.

Unlikely. Supposedly all of their inventory has been shipped to dealers, and phones at those dealers are now ringing off the hook.
I just got off the fence and bought an OX HG. I was told three guitars sold in the last 20 minutes.

Sad news. Maybe they will come back with another incarnation?
I thought they sure looked sweet, but have yet to play one. Carbon always seemed like a great idea for material to use.

You have to ask, why couldn't they make it? Lots and lots of people love their instruments. I don't get it. Lousy management? Wouldn't surprise me.

Sad to see a good U.S. guitar company go out. Hopefully some other company could take over and make them a little more affordable.
