Default Murieal Anderson and her harp guitar.

I took my wife to see Muriel Anderson last week. We met up with Nap there (AGF Napman). Muriel is a wonderful guitar player and a really neat person. She is so small with such thin delicate fingers. Wow, she can play. I really wanted to hear and see her harp guitar in action. I've never seen or heard one before. Those instruments are so cool. (Anyone want me to make them one?) The bass was so deep and rich with incredible sustain. She played nothing but classical guitars - her harp guitar was nylon also. She mixed it up a bit and sang about 40% of the time. She has a pleasant voice.
She understands music and performance and draws in the crowd. The concert was in a music store that they cleared out and brought in about 70 chairs. If you get a chance, be sure and see this great lady. We had a wonderful time.

Hi Steve...
Have seen her play several times, and she is an awesome player. She has such a precise touch without being mechanical.

I love her harp guitars - she has commissioned a new acoustic steel string one to match the classical one. She owns a steel string acoustic harp guitar, but classical has one more string which she liked so much she is selling (probably sold by now) her old acoustic harp guitar.

A couple of my friends and I went to Healdsburg this past summer and enrolled for her class titled ''Putting your heart in your hands'' (something like that). Awesome and it has impacted my playing greatly.

Get thee to http://www.harpguitars.net/ and take a look around for more information about these wonderful instruments. Stephen Sedgewick is based in England but his prices are very reasonable - http://www.btinternet.com/~steve.sedgwick/

At last count, she had two, a steel-string made by Del Langejans and a nylon-string made by Mike Doolin. The nylon-string version is smaller, lighter and thus more portable. It's what she had with her when she toured Australia.

Hi all...
She told us last August that she likes the extra string on her nylon stringed harp guitar, and is selling her steel string one and has another steel string harp guitar commissioned with the ''extra'' string.

Yes, 6 sub-bass strings is the way to go! I don't think the nylon-stringed guitar has one extra string, it's just that the steel-stringed one is string-challenged
