"All My Only Dreams" by Scott Rogness & Rick Elias
"All My Only Dreams" was written for the 1996 Tom Hanks' movie, "That Thing You Do." This song reminds me of the Everly Brothers' song, "All I Have To Do Is Dream," but it has some sophisticated augmented passing chords interspersed in the song that let you know the songwriters knew something about songwriting. I got a new Fender Strat recently and just loved the sound of the neck pickup on this song. Thanks for listening! - Glenn

Nice, Glenn!!! I loved the music from that movie, and especially this one, the kiss off at the end of the film:
It is fun to watch the steps of their gear as their career progresses. If you've ever been in bands you know each of the personalities in the band as well. Bob

Yes, I had much the same reaction as you when watching the movie, and I have probably watched it a half dozen times at least! I had the same thoughts about the personalities in the band, the evolution in their guitars and amps, the conflicts, the sense of humor, the whole thing. I also thought that the songwriting and recording behind the scenes was very well done. Tom Hanks enlisted some talented people to put this thing together. And finally, I have to say that I love the innocence portrayed in the movie. Thanks for listening and for taking time to comment, Bob! I hope all is well for you and your family! - Glenn

Just lovely, you one-man band, you! Nice new Strat, great color. Really enjoyed that you played multiple electrics. It all worked super!

Thanks for watching and listening and taking time to comment! Yes, I love the color of my new Strat. It's called "Dark Knight" and I thought it looked great with the maple fretboard. I've only had that guitar for a week. Regarding the other guitars, the Rick 360-12 and the Fender Tele (MIM), I was following the sounds I heard from the original recording and I am very fortunate to have these other guitars. I have to say, I love the sound of the Rick 12-string! And that twang from the Tele is pretty cool, too. That Tele has American pickups and electronics in it, so it sounds very good. I hope all is well for you, Tom! - Glenn

I'm so glad you enjoyed this! It was a fun, but rather involved project. I know that this is not a well known song and so probably will not get much attention from folks, but it's a song I have really appreciated from the first time I heard it. So I wanted to take a shot at it. I hope all is well for you and your family, Mike! And I hope the holiday season is a comforting time for you! - Glenn

Thank you rmp!
I'm glad you felt that this cover came out okay. I'm sure there are plenty of layers to each one of us. There were certainly plenty of layers in putting this video together! I hope all is well for you, rmp! Be well! - Glenn

Well Willow, you wasted no time at all putting that new axe to good use! That “Midnight” paint scheme is absolute killer. A reverse burst. I love it. Great job with the song also. But I wouldn’t expect anything less coming out of chateaux Willow🎸

Thanks for watching and for your comments! And you are right! I wanted to put that new guitar to use right away! It is sort of a reverse burst with the dark on the inside and lighter blue near the edges. It's so different, maybe that's why I like it! And it kind of matches my typical clothes! I hope all is well for you Frank! - Glenn

How nice of you to take time to comment! Regarding the production, the multi-track recording and all the video tracks, I didn't think this song would work without trying to duplicate the overall band sound. It's not a terribly complex song and it was only 3 minutes, so it was not all that hard to do. I hope all is well for you and your family Fred! Enjoy the holiday season! - Glenn
