With "
The Goodall Forum" no longer operational, we lost the "
Serial No. Database" thread". It was a joint effort from actual Goodall guitar owners to compile a list of Goodall serial numbers with matching completion dates. It was very helpful in approximately dating a Goodall guitar. Jean is usually very quick to respond to inquiries, but most of the time I didn't find the need to bother her anymore because of that thread.
I am hoping to revive it here and have included Goodalls that I have previously and currently own in the list below.

Q: What year did Goodall switch from using nitrocellulose lacquer to catalyzed urethane for their finishes?
A: Although we now use a finish that is impervious to finish checks, we used a high quality nitrocellulose lacquer from 1972 when we started building until 1998. Nitrocellulose lacquer was used on Goodall guitars from 1972-1998 in model numbers up to model number 1573 (exceptions: KJ1550, RS1545, RGC1564).
