"My understanding is Burst buckers in the 1,2, and 3 versions are machine wound, uneven coil and either potted or unpotted.
MHS are alnico II neck and alnico III bridge, manually scatterwound, uneven coil, and unpotted, and are for that reason more of a PAF style pickup in construction, that Gibson probably considers more of an "historic spec"."
Seems like the MHS IIs were introduced about 2016.
I like their clean tones so much that I've yet to mess around with overdrive or other effects.
