A really interesting thing to do when acquiring these old guitars is to read the history of events going on around the time the guitar was made. Get a feel for the culture at the time the guitar was made, what type of music might have been played on it, even who might have owned it. These guitars have a very real history. Think along the lines of "if these walls could talk...". These old instruments are special, and we are their caretakers.
