So, the "leave it alone" ayes here have it, which after further contemplation was what I was planning to do at this point anyway. Regardless, if I did attempt to patch it, I don't think using spray paint would be the way to go.

What a "thin finish" consists of, your guess is as good as mine. But, I certainly don't want to cause a chemical reaction that it might blow my face off and knock the Earth off its axis!
