Do you have to press record on both devices to initiate recording?
The Zoom looks attractive for a live event where you might want the surround sound options to record the audience's reaction.
Using one of the Zoom recorders as an interface disables recording to the internal card.

When used as an interface the record button on the Zoom is not functional, it's constantly passing data to the camera/phone/computer and recording is handled there.

If the Zoom is connected via the headphone out or line out then recording can be to both the Zoom storage and the connected device and to do that you must press record on both devices.
