We were thrilled to be offered these exquisite prototypes, built this year in the Eastman shop using tone woods rarely or never found on their production models. Based on the results, we really hope they continue in this direction!
The first is a
GACE with European spruce top and Aged Eucalyptus back/sides:
The Eucalyptus has a tone that hits our ears somewhere between mahogany and walnut, strong fundamental with great sustain. The figuring is very pleasing, almost resembling snake wood. See more pictures and specs here:

The last piece we're offering at this time is an
E20D prototype (labeled simply "dreadnought prototype) and while the materials aren't quite as exotic, it has particularly fine sound. It's a classic.
