Here's something to try.
Notice that with this arrangement of the boom arm and clutch, the weight of the mic tends to loosen the clutch.
If you can pull the boom out of the clutch and insert it going the opposite direction the weight of the mic will tighten the clutch and that might eliminate the sagging issue.
