The open-back MassDrop Sennheiser HD 6XX is a great bargain at $220. They're the same as the Sennheiser HD 650 which sell for over $300 everywhere.

For closed-back, you can't go wrong with the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO. ProAudioStar has some b-stock pairs for $129.
