Smile 2001 SCGC Bob Brozeman PRO Baritone TRADED AGF

Greeting and salutations AGF

TRADED AGF

This is a 2001 SCGC Bob Brozman PROFESSIONAL Baritone model.
The Best Of The Best from Santa Cruz Guitar Co!
STUNNING AXE
Very near mint condition with just the most minimal signs that its been played.
List price now according to Santa Cruz on the phone, would be $10,600 without pickup!

Save a bundle and the build wait, and get a fully opened up axe in Minty Condition with a spectacular setup!

Here is one at Eddie's if you want to spend a LOT more!

https://reverb.com/item/13981772-san...itone-koa-demo

Very VERY high grade of Bear Claw German Spruce and Highly Flamed Old Growth fallen and reclaimed Koa.
This has the stock features normally associated with the Bob Brozeman PROFESSIONAL Model:
27" scale length and 1.90 nut width.
Very slim shallow C shape neck which reminds me of my 1994 Taylor LKSM but even a bit more slim.
VERY light weight and SUPER responsive.

It has a Schatten Active pickup installed with a sound hole mounted volume control. This super pup runs on two CR02 watch batteries which mount under the extremely light weight soundhole controls. So no heavy 9v inside to worry about.

No other mods or repairs. Not even a strap button!

Just back 6/11/19. Now perfect setup, minor fret dress, buffed and DIALED by my pal and Tech, Pat Quinn.
Pat has been a Senior Repair Tech at Taylor El Cajon for over ten years, and before that did full time Repair at San Diego's famed Blue Guitar. Pat's setups are World Class!
Currently sports Elixir Phosphor Bronze Mediums set up for C with nice low action. Could be tuned up to C sharp or D with current strings.
Can be tuned down to B or B flat or even lower with Heavy Gauge or heavier Baritone strings, so VERY VERSATILE.
Comes with a near mint TKL case that fits perfectly.
Pat commented that even though Taylor owns Koa Forests now they can no longer get this super grade of Koa. ( but I bet Bob T has a stash... haha)

Sadly selling this because as I feared, the wider 1.9" Nut and long scale are more than I could gig with, even with its very comfy super slim neck shape. Also, it is much too minty for worry free gigging!
And I have my FOURTH John Kinnaird Custom coming soon that will need to be paid for! Yikes...

Here is Matt from Eddies Guitars doing a through demo of a near identical but newer BBB. The funky background noise goes away when he is playing, thankfully:

Blurb lifted from SCGC:
Multi-instrumentalist and world music virtuoso Bob Brozman was certainly qualified to design a guitar capable of showcasing a myriad of styles. A collaboration between this esteemed world musician and Richard Hoover resulted in a spectacular baritone guitar that can lend a piano-like presence to slide and open tuning playing styles. The very long (27 inch) scale, 12-fret Mahogany neck allows the guitar to accommodate heavier strings at the lower tensions of open tunings. The highest quality Mahogany back and sides and a rare European Spruce top provide extreme tonal clarity. This unique guitar combines design elements and tone woods for unrivaled volume, tone and sustain. If your set list includes Blues, Hawaiian Slack-Key or open tuning fingerstyles, this guitar is the ticket.

Bob Brozman’s personal instrument is captured in the Professional Model. In addition to the appointments of the standard DBB – a Herringbone combination purfling and Ivoroid top binding with a Herringbone and Ivoroid rosette – the DBB Pro is built with gorgeous reclaimed Koa wood for the back, sides and peghead overlay. This increasingly rare tone wood is acquired from old, naturally downed trees. SCGC is privy to a proprietary seasoning procedure that captures the colorful golden chocolate richness of this Hawaiian national treasure. Mr. Brozman warned us that, “The tone of this guitar can make a grown man cry.”
