Thanks for the welcome Kevin. I picked out the wood back in March during a pre build visit to the shop. Like a knuckle head I didn't take any photos. I had forgotten how pretty the flamed maple is until Ryan sent the photo this past week end.

Congratulations John! You're in for the thrill of a lifetime which will result in an heirloom instrument. You're the perfect candidate for a student build, someone who appreciates a luthier made guitar and is intrigued by all of the steps taken to produce a remarkable instrument.

Great choice on the 00 deep body. Simply put, it sounds way bigger than its size belies. Are you going with a long scale or sticking with short?
