I've really been delving into classical guitar music for the past five years. I come from a rock n' roll, jazz background and I keep finding my classical ear drawn to the more modern 20th century classical guitar music.
Giacomo's post in another thread inspired me to create another addressing modern repertoire music.
Some of the more modern cds I enjoy:
- Graham Devine/Ricardo Cobo/Elena Papandreou Brouwer recordings on Naxos
- Graham Devine - British Guitar Music, also on Naxos
- Craig Ogden - Tippett: The Blue Guitar
- Craig Ogden - Guitar Works of Lennox and Michael Berkeley
- Marcin Dylla's recording of Maw's "Music of Memory"
- Stephan Schmidt - Maurice Ohana
And now I'm off to order the Tannenbaum and Korhonen cds recommended by Giacomo!
Any other modern repertoire enthusiasts on the forum?
