The playing is very nice indeed.
IMO the back and sides won't have that much of an impact on the sound of a cedar top SJ.
For having played mahogany/cedar and rosewood/cedar SJs back to back, my feeling is that the koa/cedar would sound just about in between two flavours that are already quite similar.
I can see the rosewood making a difference for strummers but for my own needs it really boils down to the looks, rarity and prestige of the wood.
