Odd- they really did turn mine black. I will say that I typically use Dr. Stringfellow string cleaner and maybe they didn't like that? I used them on other guitars without the Stringfellow, and while I had a bit of blackness on my fingertips, nothing like you see in the first post of this thread:

I loved them enough on my OF660 I might give them another chance but only wipe them down next time.
