I bought my Gibson F9 at a local shop that was going out of business. It took about 10 years to finally learn the major, minor, and 7th chords for fiddle tunes. Transferring melodies from guitar to mandolin was relatively easy.
I grew from novice to intermediate and then I played a 5G mando that had a bassier, deeper, fuller tone. I have been looking in the used market without success.
