The ziricote on this build came over from the US in my suitcase.

Woods that we've found locally so far include African wenge, two Indian rosewood species, mahogany (hard to tell what species), some beautiful acacia that looks just like koa, sapele and the reddest, most shimmery padauk I've ever seen. So far, we've shipped in all our soundboard stock from the US and Canada. Trying to convince the government to allow me to select harvest downed spruce and cedar in the Himalayas for soundboards, but no movement on that so far.
What an adventure! Sounds like "Tales from the Exlporers club." I can see you renting an old land rover with rusted gas cans attached to the spare tire, navigating dusty roads with cattle as traffic, searching for the best wood. I'd like Himalayan spruce, Sri Lankan rosewood, and a Bombay sapphire please .
