Thanks Tom. Yeah Steve got a splinter a while back right under the fingernail. It has since gotten infected and now may need amputation (I'm assuming). It is in a bad way. Progress waits for no man though.

To your point on carving bridges on the English Brown Oak thread. Patience really. Steve has a set height he wants it to hit and works with rasp, file, and sandpaper to get it there. He's much more of a sculptor than I. I need many markings to make it halfway match, but Steve's eye and skill trumps mine every time.
