Choosing Wenge was to a large part a cost conscious move and Kent's belief that it would help achieve the type of sound I like. As much as I am a finger pad fingerstyle player I like a sharper (here we go again possibly, with my inappropriately describing sound) cleaner sound than say a walnut-cedar guitar would provide. I also had read great things about Wenge, and I typically like to choose under-the-radar things (who else would but a VW Quantum wagon only to see it go to the shop every few months).
